Developed by an HR Executive and Leadership Coach

The CHRLC Framework was developed by Jill Brown, MA, SPHR, CPEC drawing on decades of experience leading HR functions, advising executive teams, and coaching leaders through complex organizational and ethical challenges.

Today’s HR leaders are expected to do far more than manage policies, resolve employee relations issues, or implement HR programs.

Increasingly, executives rely on HR to help navigate difficult leadership decisions, address cultural challenges, and guide conversations that shape the future of the organization.

Yet most HR professionals were never trained to coach leaders, challenge decisions, or influence ethically complex situations at the executive level.

You might recognize this situation:

You're sitting in a leadership meeting and a difficult people decision is unfolding.  You know the implications for culture, trust, and employee experience.  But influencing the conversation -- without overstepping -- can feel incredibly difficult. This is the moment where HR leadership requires courage, coaching skill, and ethical judgement.

The Certified HR Leadership Coach™ (CHRLC) Program was created to close this gap—equipping experienced HR leaders with the coaching skills, leadership insight, and courageous influence required to operate as trusted advisors to senior leadership.

Developed by HR executive and leadership coach Jill Brown, MA, SPHR, CPEC, drawing on more than two decades of experience advising leaders through complex organizational and ethical challenges.

The most effective HR leaders combine coaching skill, ethical judgment, and the courage to influence difficult decisions.

Why HR Leaders Need This Now

HR leaders are expected to influence executives -- but few are trained to do it.

Today's HR leaders must:

  • advise executives on difficult people decisions
  • navigate ethical gray areas
  • manage conflict among senior leaders
  • influence culture and leadership behavior

Yet most HR development still focuses on policy, compliance, and systems -- not courageous leadership influence.

The Result?

Many HR leaders know what should be done but hesitate in the moments that matter most.

My Pivotal Moment

Early in my HR leadership career I investigated a credible sexual harassment claim. Despite the evidence, leadership chose to promote the harasser and demote the victim rather than address the issue.

That made clear to me how difficult it can be for HR leaders to influence ethical decisions -- and how essential courage and skillful advising are in these moments.

The Reality Facing HR Leaders

Organizations increasingly rely on HR to:

  • coach leaders through difficult conversations
  • address ethical dilemmas
  • navigate employee relations crises
  • guide cultural change

But few HR leaders receive formal preparation for these responsibilities.

This is why many HR leaders feel:

  • stuck in operational roles
  • hesitant to challenge executives
  • emotionally exhausted from constant conflict

The Certified HR Leadership Coach™ (CHRLC) Program was designed to close this gap.
